We have had a request for 75 masks from Cornerstones of Care, who service our foster children and families in Cooper County.
We have some elastic coming our way, so if you need some, please let me know. We have seen some creative things done for the mask ear loops with shoelaces, crocheted strings, etc. So feel free to be creative! 😊
I have received two generous donations to help with supplies. We also have donated money that was sent to Saints Peter and Paul’s office…so if you need some help obtaining needed items, let me know.
Happy Friday and Blessings to all of you.
Just wanted to share a couple of things with you. We have successfully distributed 600+ masks in our area. Things quieted down for about a week, but now that the stay-at-home order is being lifted on the 4th of May (Star Wars Day!), we are receiving some more requests.
So, if you have it in you to make some more masks, it would be greatly appreciated. If you need materials, let us know. We can have them delivered.
I wanted to share a cute picture that Tina sent me of a couple of ladies who received masks from us. They wanted to tell us, thank you!
Everyone, please stay safe and thank you for all of your hard work. It does not go unnoticed.
Blessings to all.
We have distributed 450 masks in the Boonville area and beyond! A team of volunteers at Saints Peter and Paul Church will be calling all of those facilities or groups who received their first batch of masks to see if there is still a need. If there is, I will send an alert and let you know.
Groups/Facilities who have received masks:
Boonville Police Department
Riverdell Care Center
Neighbors Helping Neighbors (Food Pantry)
Cooper County Health Department
Maggie’s Bar and Grill
Staff at Our Lady of Lourdes, Columbia, MO
Staff at Newman Center, Columbia, MO
Staff at Sacred Heart Church, Columbia, MO
We have also distributed masks to those families who have requested them. If someone or a group needs masks, please let us know.
Many blessings to all of you!

Congratulations! We have already distributed over 150 masks in the last two days!
We can’t rest on our laurels though..We have received requests from two local nursing homes, assisted living center and our local food pantry for masks. So as of tonight, we are going to need approximately 130 masks in the next few days. We would also like to have a stockpile set aside for our elderly who may or may not have one.
So basically what I am saying is….keep sewing!!! 🙂
We have set up our very own Facebook Page, so we can seamlessly link our website to Facebook. Please follow us!

We have created this website for those of you who are helping to sew face masks for our community.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak it became rapidly apparent that we were going to have shortages of medical gear and supplies. In particular face masks. So over the past couple of weeks we have sent out a call to anyone who can sew to start making face masks. If you don’t know how to sew, but are willing to donate fabric, elastic, etc…that will work, too. Our gut feeling is that we are going to need to do this for a while. And as we venture into the unknown, there may be new things that we can make or donate to assist our heroes in healthcare and the most vulnerable in our community.
Due to the number of wonderful volunteers (h/t to Theresa Krebs, Mary Barile and Tina Edholm) that have stepped up to start making face masks, I thought it would be best to set up our own web page or blog. I plan on compiling patterns and information in all formats so that they are easily accessible to our volunteers.
I work in the Emergency Medicine field, I am not a medical or certified careworker, but I have worked for and supported the wonderful people in the Emergency Department at Boone Hospital for 20 years and now work for a corporation (TEAMHealth) that staffs 450+ Emergency Department Providers in 46 states. In my lifetime, I have never seen anything like this virus. Please stay safe, practice social distancing, wash your hands and stay home as much as you can. We will get through this…it is just going to take some patience and prayer.
PS: If you want to volunteer, donate or send me your patterns or links to patterns, please email me at email@example.com
NOTE: When you have masks or donations ready, you can drop them off at Maggie’s Bar and Grill from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. or send me a message and we can arrange to have them picked up.
